On June 13 2009, Upper East Side resident Jane Miller met blind date Dan Gilroy for a spirited afternoon of tennis.
Hoping to keep things light and casual since it was their first date, Jane told Dan she never picked up a racket before when in her youth she was a nationally ranked semi professional tennis player.
After an hour of taunting and derogatory comments about her horrible play by a super competitive Gilroy, an enraged Miller fired off a 120 mph serve which smashed his nose and fractured his left eye socket.
Gilroy was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. He never called Jane again. She was okay with that.
