July 10, 2010:
In the final game of the regular season of the Central Park Softball League, Upper East Sider and Left Fielder Donald Benedetto went four for four driving in six runs, insuring his team The Fair Traders a spot in the playoffs!
Benedetto finished the regular season with 17 home runs, 52 RBIs, and an astonishing .880 batting average, a league record!
Three months later Benedetto was arrested for embezzling $200,000 from the Hedge Fund he managed. Investigators discovered he used the money to pay for personal batting lessons from Yankees hitting coach Kevin long.
